Bake for a Cause

Baithak · Saturday 5 September 2026 · Sheeba Park, Y-Block, DHA

Bake a cake.
Help a family rebuild.

Baithak is our first cake picnic. You bring a cake, everyone sits down and eats it, and our judges pick three winners. Every rupee we raise goes to families who lost their homes in the floods. Come and bake with us, or just come and eat. Both of those help.

Three tickets, starting at PKR 1,000. The workshop ticket includes a decorating class and a drink of your choice.

Who we are

Meet Bake for a Cause

A student-led, sifted, whisked and baked, non-profit organisation.

Our goal? Make sure the fruit of your blood, sweat and tears (hopefully metaphorical) reaches those who need it — yep, that's right.

100% of the proceeds from Bake for a Cause will be going to flood victims throughout the country, so that every family in Pakistan has a chicken in thei— excuse us — a slice on their plate. *chivalrous wink*

Our first event is Baithak, a baithak themed cake picnic run in the @cakepicnictour format.

The cause

Why we're doing this

The water comes at night, and by morning a family has lost the house, the crop and everything they earned that year. Then the slow part starts. Months in a tent, children who stop going to school, and the job of starting again with nothing to start with.

Flood-affectees need money that arrives quickly and doesn't come with conditions attached. That is the whole reason we are doing this. We are not going to fix it ourselves, obviously. But we can bake, so we are using that to raise whatever we can for the people who are already out there doing the work.

All of it goes to Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan's flood relief wing. They are one of the biggest relief networks in the country, and they have partnered with us on this event.

What happens to your money

  1. You buy a ticketThe tickets are the fundraiser. We are not going to keep messaging you for donations afterwards.
  2. It all goes in one potEvery ticket type feeds the same fund. We don't split it up.
  3. Three winners get pickedJudged on the day, in front of everyone who came.
  4. The fund gets donatedThe whole thing goes to Al-Khidmat's flood relief operations. PKR 15,000 of it is credited in each winner's name.
  5. You see the receiptWe will post it on @bakeforacause.pk. You should not have to just take our word for it.

Tickets

Three ways to take part

Pick whichever one suits you. The cheapest ticket is the one where you bring a cake, which is only fair, since you are already bringing something to the table.

The competition

How the competition works

There is no cash prize. If you win, PKR 15,000 gets donated in your name to families rebuilding their homes. We thought that was worth more than a trophy.

01

Who can compete

Anyone with the PKR 1,000 ticket who baked their own cake, plus workshop guests, who compete with whatever they decorate that afternoon.

02

How it's judged

On creativity, authenticity and best decoration overall. Our judges are accredited, and we will announce who they are on @bakeforacause.pk before the day.

03

What winners get

PKR 15,000 donated in each winner's name to Al-Khidmat's flood relief operations, out of the total we raise.

Questions

Before you book

Do I have to bring a cake?

Only if you have the PKR 1,000 ticket. That is the baker's ticket, and the cake is basically what you are paying with. Everyone else just turns up.

Why is the cake ticket cheaper than general admission?

Because you are giving us a cake. The PKR 2,500 ticket is for people who want to come to the picnic without having to bake anything.

Can workshop guests enter the competition?

Yes. You compete with the cake you decorate in the workshop, on the same terms as everyone else.

How do I pay?

Bank transfer. The account details are inside the registration form, so fill that in and you will have everything you need.

Where exactly does the money go?

To Al-Khidmat Foundation's flood relief wing, with portions donated specifically in the three winners' names, PKR 15,000 each. We do not keep any of it.

Can I donate without coming?

Yes, please do. Message us on @bakeforacause.pk or on WhatsApp and we will send you the account details.
